The Economics Career Summit 2025 brought together 60 of Uzbekistan’s top Economics students for a full day of expert talks, mentorship, and hands-on career development. The speaker lineup included leading professionals such as Dr. Obid Khakimov, Director of the Center for Economic Research & Reforms, who discussed Uzbekistan’s national economic strategy. Mukhammadaziz Adilov (KPMG Deal Advisory) shared internship-hunting insights, Sukhrob Murodov(Deloitte) spoke about starting a career in the Big 4, and Abdurashid Abdusalomov provided guidance on graduate admissions for top Economics programs, including UChicago.
The program featured a group case challenge on youth employment policy reform, personalized internship and graduate-school roadmaps, and career simulations with rotating mentorship.
Participants described the event as professional, global, and highly motivating, comparing it to world-class corporate campus days. Many highlighted the opportunities to form academic and career-focused connections.

8 teams formed to collaborate on research or startup ideas
90%+ of attendees expressed interest in future YESU events
60 elite students became official YESU members
Follow-up partnerships were initiated with three organizations, including student unions at WIUT, Webster, and TSUE
The Summit showcased the growing ambition of Uzbekistan’s young economists and strengthened YESU’s role as a leading academic and professional community in the country.
